Students spotted having sex by tree
Written by Toby Cray
Two students were witnessed having sex, during the early hours of 18th October, by a tree in the village accommodation, situated in Oadby.
A third-year student at the university of Leicester, who wants to stay anonymous, describes how the activity came to their attention:
“I heard moans and screams and as I looked through the window there were two people kissing next to trees and bushes. It looked like the guy had his pants down.”
Having sex on university grounds seems to be quite normal, as they added: “I know that people were doing it in the laundry rooms last year.
“They usually go around telling everyone that they were doing it.”
However, hearing about this and seeing it is another matter, as they state: “I was very surprised to see people having sex outside.”
A University of Leicester spokesperson has responded to this incident by stating:
“We expect all students to behave in accordance with university regulations, including our student code of conduct.”
They added: “If a student witnesses inappropriate behaviour taking place on one of our accommodation sites, we would ask that they immediately report this to University Security on 0116 252 2023 so that appropriate action can be taken or you can contact Student Support Services.”
Whilst in their accommodation they described the sequence of events:
“I was making tea and it was around 1.30 am. I could hear party noises, so I went to the window in the dining room to check what was going on.
“I opened the window and there were lots of people on that path between Lasdun and Bowder.
After going into the kitchen and hearing moaning, they looked out of the window where: “They were having sex.”
Explaining their behaviour, they speculated: “They were probably both drunk.”
