A cover photo of a playboy magazine has appeared on the Students’ Union’s Executive Elections 2021 Candidates webpage.

This comes as the 2021 Students’ Union’s Officers election gets under way, with 19 candidates running for the five Executive Officers positions.

A Spokesperson for University of Leicester Students’ Union said:

“Yumpu is an external magazine provider used by several major UK magazine publications and allows digital booklets to be interactively uploaded and embedded into webpages.

“The Students’ Union has a free account with Yumpu and therefore no control over the publications displayed or recommended to its users.

“In light of the information provided, we will look to review our digital booklet provider moving forward.”

The two candidates running for President, who have published a manifesto, are Rhiannon Jenkins and Pedram Bani Asadi.

Pedram Bani Asadi, a third-year law student, stated:

“I want to inspire them and show them that there is no fear in running and standing up to authority and that they could do it too.

“No matter if I win or lose, I am part of this change and that is why running for the SU president is important to me.”

Rhiannon Jenkins, a third-year English student, stated:

“I want everyone to love their experience at Leicester as much as I have.

“This year’s been difficult for everyone and as we recover from COVID, it’s also the perfect time to make structural changes that can improve the student experience for all.”
